Bayombong Municipality Seal Symbolism
Bayanihan/Bagon-bagon:
The name "Bayombong" derives from the Gaddang phrase "Bayongyong," which refers to the long lines of people carrying bamboo water poles, or "bayongyong". This practice embodies the Filipino value of bayanihan, or community spirit, as people work together to fetch water for their community.
Two Rivers:
The term "bayongyong" also denotes the confluence of two prominent rivers, a significant geographical feature of the area.
Water Carriers:
Depicting people carrying water-filled bamboo poles would directly reference the origin of the town's name and its cultural practices.
Bamboo:
The use of bamboo as a symbol would signify the natural resources and the historical use of the material for water transport, as noted in the name's origin.
